Never before has such a movie been made, and never before has such an Indian movie been screened on the world's biggest screen. Eros entertainment and Shyaam entertainment(Indianapolis) will be jointly screening TAAL for the first time in theworld on an IMAX screen. On August 24, 1999, a new era of entertainment began in Indianapolis with the opening of the TAAL at IMAX 3D Theaterin White River State Park---Indiana's only IMAX Theater. The theater has astounded visitors with a 6 story tall (approximately 40 feet) by80-foot wide screen, a six-channel digital sound system (approximately10,000 watts of sound), and the latest in 3D technology. The vast auditorium gives viewers a movie-going experience like no other.Patrons may choose from 409 luxury seats, each one placed to ensure that it is the best seat in the house. It has stadium seating with no obstructed views. IMAX technology uses 70-mm, 15 perforation films known in the industry as a 15/70 system; each frame is ten times the size of standard 35-mm film. In addition, IMAX projectors are the most advanced, powerful, and highest precision ever built. Together, the IMAX system creates an image clearer, sharper, and brighter than a normal motion picture. The awesome IMAX 3D effect is achieved via polarized glasses. Images are projected onto a giant flat screen by two polarized lenses that focus the separate left and right eye images of the two separate strips of film onto the screen. Attending a movie at the IMAX will make you feel like you're in the movie, not just watching one. IMAX started screening Hollywood movies on the IMAX screen using the typical 35mm reels and it was an instant success. Says Dr.Raman, "I watched TITANIC on IMAX and was really blown away. This was last year, and ever since I have been waiting to show an Indian movie on IMAX. TAAL was the best opportunity I have had ever since. Who could have asked for a better movie. I was a little sceptical when I walked in to the theatre with the trailor for TAAL. I was overwhelmed by the huge pictures and obviously the music of A.R.Rahman was meant to be heard on such advanced state of the art systems. I might be the first Indian to watch an Indian trailor on the IMAX; surely, I am not going to be the last one either!
